High-performance electric SUV variant filed with dual motors delivering 738 kW and 300 km/h top speed

Xiaomi has filed official documents for the Xiaomi YU7 GT, a high-performance variant of its YU7 electric SUV. The filing appeared in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology catalogue on 6 February 2026.

This development matters because it pushes the performance of electric SUVs further. The Xiaomi YU7 GT delivers 738 kW, equal to 990 horsepower, through a dual-motor setup. It reaches a top speed of 300 km/h.

Powertrain Details

The Xiaomi YU7 GT uses two electric motors. The front motor produces 288 kW while the rear motor delivers 450 kW. Combined output stands at 738 kW. This exceeds the standard YU7 Max variant’s 508 kW. Acceleration is expected to approach 2 seconds to 100 km/h.

The model features a wide-body kit. It measures 16 mm longer and 11 mm wider than the regular YU7. These changes support better stability at high speeds.

Position in Electric SUV Segment

The Xiaomi YU7 GT enters a growing category of high-output electric SUVs. It competes with models that blend family utility and extreme performance. The power level places the Xiaomi YU7 GT close to some supercars in raw output.

China’s electric vehicle market sees frequent performance upgrades. Manufacturers expand line-ups to cover different buyer needs. The Xiaomi YU7 GT adds a flagship option within the YU7 family.

Infrastructure must handle such vehicles. High-power charging remains essential for quick energy recovery after hard driving. Roads and tyres also face greater stress from rapid acceleration and high speeds.

Beyond the Spec Sheet

The Xiaomi YU7 GT allows owners to cover long distances at sustained high speeds with minimal effort. Overtaking on highways becomes quicker and safer due to instant torque delivery.

Goods transport benefits when performance variants join fleets that need both speed and space. Drivers experience reduced fatigue on long routes thanks to smooth electric power.

Access to fast charging networks determines real-world usability for extended trips. Reliability improves with fewer moving parts compared to combustion engines.

Daily behaviour shifts as owners gain confidence in electric options for demanding use. Urban and highway movement gains new flexibility for those who value both practicality and capability.
