Vietnamese automaker restructures into three lines and unveils 800S SUV plus 900S sedan under new premium marque for 2027 launch
VinFast has formalised Lac Hong as its ultra-luxury EV brand. The Vietnamese manufacturer announced this restructuring on 3 March 2026.
The move organises operations into three distinct lines. VF covers mass-market passenger EVs, Green handles commercial mobility, and Lac Hong targets the premium segment. This development matters as it positions VinFast to compete in higher-value markets with dedicated ultra-luxury offerings.
Brand Architecture Shift
VinFast completed its strategic restructuring. Lac Hong now serves as the pinnacle of its portfolio. It includes the earlier 900 LX model introduced in 2025.
The brand draws inspiration from Vietnamese cultural heritage. Designs incorporate elements like bamboo-inspired grilles and Lac bird motifs.

New Models Unveiled
VinFast revealed two flagship models under the Lac Hong brand. The 800S is a full-size SUV, while the 900S is a full-size sedan. Both vehicles are scheduled for commercial launch in 2027.
These models feature long wheelbases for enhanced rear-seat space. They include tri-motor configurations delivering up to 460 kW of power. Interiors use Nappa leather, precious wood, zero-gravity seating, automatic power-assisted doors, and premium entertainment systems.
Advanced technologies integrate fully active suspension and comprehensive safety features. The focus remains on executive comfort and chauffeur-driven use. Specific range, battery details, and pricing remain unavailable at this stage.
In the global mobility space, Lac Hong adds an Asian-origin player to the ultra-luxury EV segment. It challenges established European names in premium electric segments. The brand targets buyers seeking high-end electric options with cultural distinction.
Beyond the Spec Sheet
Lac Hong enables extended, comfortable travel for high-net-worth individuals and executives. Rear-seat occupants gain better access to work or rest during long journeys.
Movement becomes quieter and smoother with active suspension and electric powertrains. Reliability improves through integrated advanced safety systems in daily premium use.
Cost structures shift for owners as electric operation reduces fuel expenses over time in chauffeur scenarios. Behaviour changes are occurring as users opt for culturally rooted luxury EVs for urban and inter-city travel.
