Ultraviolette’s X47 launch marks a breakthrough with radar technology and a 323km range, promising safer and greener adventures for biking enthusiasts

Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive unveiled the X47 Crossover on 23 September 2025. This marks India’s first electric adventure tourer with integrated radar tech. Bookings surged past 3,000 in just 24 hours. Moreover, the company extended its introductory offer to the first 5,000 buyers. Priced at ₹2.49 lakh ex-showroom, the Ultraviolette X47 targets riders craving performance without emissions. Deliveries begin in October 2025 across India. Then, global rollout follows in 2026. For biking enthusiasts, this bike blends urban commutes with weekend escapes seamlessly.

The Ultraviolette X47 draws inspiration from its aviation roots. It features a tall stance, knuckle guards, and a sharp beak, lending it a rugged appeal. Riders enjoy upright ergonomics that reduce fatigue on long hauls. Additionally, radial all-terrain tyres and 200mm ground clearance handle mixed terrains well. Powered by a 10.3kWh battery, it delivers 40.2bhp and 610Nm torque at the wheel. Thus, acceleration hits 0-60km/h in 2.7 seconds. Top speed reaches 145km/h. Ride modes—Glide, Combat, Ballistic—adapt to city buzz or highway thrills effortlessly.

Radar Tech Ushers in Safer Journeys

Safety defines the Ultraviolette X47’s edge. Its UV HyperSense system uses a 77GHz rear radar for 200m tracking. This innovation compensates for lean angles up to 20 degrees. Features include blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, rear collision warnings, and overtake alerts. Dual cameras double as dashcams, capturing feeds on a 5-inch TFT display. Furthermore, switchable dual-channel ABS pairs with nine-level regen braking. Dynamic Stability Control prevents rear lock-ups during hard stops. For Indian roads, crowded with surprises, these aids build confidence. Bikers report fewer close calls in early tests.

The Ultraviolette X47 also shines in charging smarts. An onboard 1.6kW charger handles voltage fluctuations common here. Parallel Boost halves times with a standard socket. DC fast charging via Type 6 adds convenience. Consequently, a full charge yields 323km IDC range—ideal for Mumbai-to-Pune runs. Enthusiasts praise the eSIM-enabled console for navigation and anti-theft perks.

Future Horizons for Electric Adventures

Looking ahead, the Ultraviolette X47 paves the way for smarter EVs. As India pushes EV adoption through policies, such bikes cut fuel costs by 80%. They lower urban pollution too. International debut at EICMA 2025 hints at exports boosting Ultraviolette’s reach. Moreover, rivals like Royal Enfield’s electric Himalayan may follow suit. Yet, the Ultraviolette X47 sets benchmarks with affordable tech. For biking enthusiasts, it promises zero tailpipe emissions on dusty trails. Expect software updates to enhance radar precision over time.

In essence, the Ultraviolette X47 transforms rides into intelligent escapades. It empowers riders to explore boldly while staying connected and safe. As deliveries roll out, this crossover could redefine biking culture in India and beyond.
