Tata Motors has officially opened bookings for the revived Tata Sierra SUV

Tata Motors has revived the iconic Tata Sierra SUV after decades. The original Sierra won hearts in the 1990s with its unique design. Now, the new Sierra SUV brings modern styling and advanced technology to Indian roads.

Bookings for the Sierra SUV opened on December 16, 2025. Customers can reserve one online via the Tata website or at authorised dealerships. The token amount stands at ₹21,000. Moreover, deliveries begin from January 15, 2026.

Reviving a Legend with Premium Appeal

The Tata Sierra SUV nods to its heritage through boxy proportions and large glass areas. However, it adds sharp LED lights, 19-inch alloys, and a panoramic sunroof. Inside, buyers get a triple-screen setup, including a passenger display. Higher variants feature a 12-speaker JBL system with Dolby Atmos.

Tata offers three engines for the Sierra SUV. Options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a turbo-petrol, and a new turbo-diesel. All deliver strong performance with manual or automatic transmissions. Additionally, Level 2 ADAS and a 5-star safety aim enhance security.

Market Impact and Future Prospects

The Tata Sierra SUV enters a hotly contested segment. It rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara. Priced competitively from ₹11.49 lakh to ₹21.29 lakh (ex-showroom), it attracts buyers seeking style and features. Consequently, Tata strengthens its SUV lineup above the Curvv.

Looking ahead, the Sierra SUV platform supports electric powertrains. An EV version may arrive soon, aligning with India’s growing green mobility push. This flexibility positions Tata well in the evolving market.

Overall, the Sierra SUV combines nostalgia, innovation, and value. It appeals to families and enthusiasts alike. As bookings surge, it could boost Tata’s market share significantly. Early adopters secure priority, so interest remains high across cities.
