Hyundai unveils the Staria Electric, a nine-seater EV on a dedicated platform, offering 800V fast charging for urban and highway mobility needs
Hyundai has unveiled the Staria Electric, its first all-electric MPV. The model features an 84kWh battery and delivers up to 400km on the WLTP cycle.
This launch matters now because it addresses the growing demand for spacious electric vehicles in family and commercial segments. Moreover, it supports the push towards sustainable transport with efficient charging options.
Platform and Powertrain Details
The Hyundai Staria Electric uses a dedicated electric architecture, separate from Hyundai’s E-GMP setup. This design allows for flexible seating in seven- or nine-seater configurations. Additionally, it integrates advanced thermal management to enhance battery performance across varied climates.
The powertrain includes a front-mounted 160kW motor that produces 350Nm torque. Therefore, it ensures smooth acceleration for city driving and overtakes on highways. The 84kWh pack supports 800V architecture, enabling a 10-80 percent charge in 20 minutes at compatible stations.

Market Positioning in Electric MPVs
