Recent spy shots reveal the premium Kia Sorento Hybrid undergoing road tests across Indian highways, hinting at an imminent local launch and stronger hybrid push

The Kia Sorento Hybrid has created buzz among car enthusiasts in India. Spy photographers recently captured the flagship SUV testing near Hyderabad and Pune. These images show the vehicle wearing light camouflage, which confirms serious launch preparations.

Kia already enjoys strong sales with models like Seltos, Sonet and Carens. Now, the brand aims higher. The Kia Sorento Hybrid will directly challenge Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and upcoming Skoda Kodiaq in the premium segment.

Premium Design Meets Efficient Powertrain

The spotted Kia Sorento Hybrid retains its global styling. Sharp LED headlights, bold tiger-nose grille and muscular bonnet stand out clearly. Moreover, 19-inch alloy wheels and roof rails add road presence. Inside, expect a 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital cluster, panoramic sunroof and ventilated seats. Advanced safety features such as Level-2 ADAS will likely come standard.

Under the hood, the Kia Sorento Hybrid pairs a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine with an electric motor. This setup delivers around 227 horsepower and impressive fuel efficiency above 18 kmpl. Additionally, the SUV offers multiple drive modes including Eco, Sport and Snow.

Strategic Move for Growing Hybrid Demand

India’s hybrid vehicle segment expands rapidly because buyers seek lower running costs without full EV charging worries. The government also offers lower taxes on strong hybrids compared to pure petrol cars. Therefore, Kia Sorento Hybrid arrives at the perfect time.

Analysts predict pricing between ₹45-55 lakh (ex-showroom). This positions the Kia Sorento Hybrid as a value-for-money alternative to German luxury SUVs. Furthermore, local assembly at Anantapur plant could keep costs competitive.

The launch will strengthen Kia’s portfolio above the Carnival MPV. It also signals the company’s long-term commitment to sustainable mobility in India. More hybrid and electric models may follow soon.

Car buyers now eagerly await official confirmation. The Kia Sorento Hybrid promises premium space, technology and efficiency in one package. Its arrival will heat up competition and give Indian families a strong hybrid option.
